The international Academy of Ceramic Implantology (IAOCI) has reached a media and educational partnership agreement with IMAGINA Dental which is the industry’s leading event for new digital technologies, 3D and CAD/CAM in dentistry. As part of this exclusive partnership, the IAOCI will be providing a hands-on workshop on April 2 with training on selection, planning , placement and restoration of monobloc and two-piece zirconia ceramic implants utilizing 3D imaging and CAD/CAM modalities and technology. Zirconia Implants: Filling a Void in Implant Dentistry
This course is lead by Drs. Sammy Noumbissi and Ralf Luettmann. It is designed to give clinicians the ability to understand zirconia as a material and the rationale for using bioceramics in implant dentistry. This course will provide training on one-piece zirconia dental implants. An emphasis will be placed on appropriate case selection, case planning, flap design, immediate or delayed zirconia implant placement, temporization methods and minor adjunctive bone grafting procedures. This program is a combination of in-depth lecture, video surgery and hands-on over the shoulder workshop with models on immediate and delayed metal-free implantation. During the hands on training part of this course participants will utilize all components of a zirconia surgical kit and will place zirconia implants in plastic mandibles. Placement of a zirconia bioceramic implant using a three dimensional computer generated surgical guide. A ” virtual surgery” is done on the computer with planning software after a Cone Beam CT scan is performed on the patient. The Data is then uploaded to Anatomage which will print the 3D Surgical Guide.
